ark:/16417/th716z3rf1m9fShown is the body of Charles Carlton, 21, of Richmond, Virginia after a car which he was driving crashed into a fence on the Winchester Pike, causing a piece of two-inch pipe to pierce his head. The pipe, which entered the windshield and passed through Carlton's head, can be seen emerging over the back seat of the car. Bent as it entered the auto, the pipe struck Carlton in the right jaw. Ambulance crewmen used a hack-saw to free the body.Image
